The Guide to Authentic Mexican Cuisines

Sun bathing and colorful Mexican fare are the essentials to an authentic Cabo experience. Comb the beaches, then retire to a fest; surrender to the hands of a masseuse, then dine in elegance at one of the Baja's premier restaurants.

The Cabo dining options range in price from criminally low-ball to what may be considered expensive in, say, the states, but is tiered highly in Mexico.

Price - Low to Fair

• Taqueria El Paisa – Serves a common strain of Los Cabos cuisine, including beef tacos, quesadillas, and potatoes. Located across from Mocambos.
• Tanga Tanga – Specials every day. Come for the beer prices and the priceless patronage.
• El Burro Loco – Home of the 30" burrito, serving up to 4 people. At $10 dollars, it's a steal.
• La Fonda – Located on Hidalgo St. serving excellent traditional dishes, and is a must-visit.

Price - Medium to High

• Puerto San Lucas – Located on 20 November, a block north of Zapata and Pepe's. Impressive steak and lobster selections. Less expensive Mexican meals also litter the menu. To gain an idea of prices, we're talking $22 for rib-eye and $35 for steak and lobster.
Passion Club – Located at ME Cabo hotel, resting on Nikki Beach. Serves an incredible Mexican-Mediterranean cuisine and touts "Cabo's best cocktails and tapas."
• Puerto Vieja – Offers a wide range of seafood, Mexican, and American (think steaks and gourmet hamburgers).
• Rossy's – Serves some unique shrimp and fish tacos and is located at Manuel Doblado at Mauricio Castro Blvd.
