Dubai Hotels - Burj Al Arab

Dubai has become a regular subject of many documentaries and news stories. This is no surprise when you consider how massive the latest hotel and resort project is in Dubai. The group of manmade islands, created solely for a resort-atmosphere, is breathtaking when viewed up close and through satellite view. The sheer engineering that went into the Dubai hotels is amazing. There are few places in the world that required such ingenuity. One of the most outstanding creations to come from this resort plan is the Burj Al Arab Hotel.

The Burj Al Arab Hotel is currently the world’s tallest hotel that is open for business. During the Dubai hotel building, there were other hotels that were taller but were not completed. This is still true today, leaving the Burj Al Arab to hold the title. The Burj Al Arab is not only tall, it is
one of the most luxurious hotels in the world.

As with the rest of the new Dubai hotel creations, the Burj Al Arab was literally built from the ground up. The islands in the new Dubai resort area are almost exclusively manmade. This is also true for the island that the Burj Al Arab is on. The island is about 920 feet off of the main beach called Jumeirah beach. The only thing connecting the hotel to the beach is a private bridge, which makes access to the hotel even more exclusive.

The Burj Al Arab’s design was meant to mimic the look of a boat sail, and it is easy to see the resemblance. The massive asymmetrical structure houses some elaborate and beautiful features. The Burj Al Arab houses the world’s tallest atrium. At 590 feet tall it is truly a breathtaking architectural feat. The structure is so uniquely shaped it seems as if it shouldn’t be able to stand at all. The remarkable beauty of this unique structure lends it to be a building forever a symbol of the new Dubai.

To accompany such a vision, hotel rooms boast a unique and fresh interior design layout. The furniture itself is very architectural and modern. Bathrooms are beautiful and luxurious with mosaic tiling, giving it a spa-like feel. The beds are large and luxurious, which is no surprise given the other luxurious accommodations. With only 202 rooms, there is still a private feel to an otherwise sprawling hotel.

The Dubai hotel Burj Al Arab not only is a great place to stay, it is also a great place to eat. The restaurant Al Mahara (The Oyster) has a massive sea water aquarium that holds more than 1 million liters of water. The restaurant is accessed through a simulated submarine voyage. Al Mahara, whose chef is Kevin McLaughlin, was voted one of the top ten restaurants in the world. Al Muntaha (Highest) is accessed via a panoramic elevator and offers a beautiful view of Dubai.

Dubai has been on a mission since the mid nineties to create a beautiful and luxurious resort area. The Dubai hotels are quickly becoming a much desired location to stay on vacation. The Burj Al Arab hotel itself is creating buzz amongst avid travelers. Book your room and prepare to enjoy the manmade lap of luxury.
